One of the main problems that new website users run into after creating their website is getting that website to start showing up on search engines.  If your website for a business isn’t showing up out there when customers are searching for your product, idea, or service, you’re not going to get web traffic to your website and convert those visits sales.  There is an entire branch of internet marketing which goes right along side of web design, commonly referred to as Search Engine Optimization, or SEO.  There are multiple pieces to the SEO puzzle, different ways to improve the ranking of your website in search engines and effectively bring traffic to your website.  Look for other articles and tutorials in regards to internet marketing on Simpleatom.com.

Search engines will eventually find your websites through a process called crawling, however there is no way to estimate as to when this may happen.  Your best approach is to submit your domain(s) to search engines manually.  The simplest way to do this is to actually visit a search engine such as Google, then do a simple search for something like “Submit URL” or “Submit Website”.  The first result should take you to a page allowing you to submit your URL to that specific search engine.  Do this for each search engine you wish to submit to.  Below are some links to a few of the more popular search engine submission pages:
